NPR fans are familiar with several of Scott Carrier's stories. Running After Antelope is a collection of autobiographical tales, some of which have been heard on the radio. My favorite is "the test" which describes a job giving mental assessment surveys to residents living in rural Utah. Particularly when he gives the test to himself. The connecting line is a series of stories about his efforts to literally chase down antelope. His brother was experimenting with a theory that before weapons, ancient peoples ran animals into complete exhaustion. Without ruining anything, let's just say the score was Humans: 0. I give Running After Antelope my seal of approval.
