I saw the movie version of this story before reading the book. My friend Sarah highly recommended the film and viewing it had a certain impact on my life. The story is about the owner of an all-vinyl record store. He just broke up with his girlfriend and is reviewing past breakups, trying to make sense of his life. The story is great, especially if you are or have ever known someone with eclectic music tastes. Or if you ever made a mix tape. And I suppose if you were one of those people who has relationships. The movie inspired me to buy the book and to pick up a new turntable. I brought out some long archived music, in particular the Dead Kennedy's. Unlike most books made into movies, the movie is virtually verbatim out of the book. So pick your medium and see/read it.
